Duat is an Egyptian myth of the realm of the dead. After death, a person’s soul, guided by the god Anubis, travels through the Duat to the Hall of Judgement. The soul’s heart is weighed on the scales of Ma’at and will either be devoured by the goddess Ammit or granted a peaceful afterlife based on their deeds while alive.

NDC’s re-telling follows the journey of an unnamed soul waking up in the Duat, coming to terms with their death, their choices, and ultimately, their fate.
